WHO ARE WE ANYWAY?
"Lori V" - Lead Vocals / Percussion
She was not going to STOP until she put together a band that kicked butt and felt right; that's how this band ended up with the name Can't Stop Now. In her 20's Lori traveled the east coast with her band RAINE. In the summer you would find them playing some of the best New Jersey Shore clubs. Some local bands she has worked with are The Shotguns, Paragon, Barn Rock Blues Band, and more. Lori's voice has been described as gutsy/ballsy and powerful yet soothing all at once. She has great presence and a wide range that allows her to sing many styles of music. This born and raised Jersey gal is on top of both the tune and her audience's emotions.
PAUL BERGER - Lead Guitar / Vocals
Lehigh Valley Guitar guru Paul Berger is one the most well known, well liked, and well respected guitar players in the area. In 1964 after 3 years of violin lessons Paul, like many, was inspired to play guitar after watching the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. On that night a dream was born, and Paul set out and purchased his first guitar and thus began a love affair with all things music. In the Early years Paul played in such bands as “ Onyx “, and “The Carlton Berger Band “. In the 80’s Paul became a member of ”Bobby and the Insects “ and performed throughout the valley on a weekly basis for most of the decade. In the Early 90’s Paul was the perfect fit to be the driving guitar force behind high powered country band “Four On The Floor” and rockers “The Lease Breakers”, entertaining the area’s local club and festival scene through the late 90’s. Since 2001 Paul has lent his diverse guitar and bass chops to many local bands of all genres. He’s put the “Jam” in classic rock’s “Jamo Band”, the Blues in the “Borracho Blues Band”, and has been the guitarist for New Jersey based rock band “Can’t Stop Now” for the past 4+ years.
MONDO CHUCK - Bass / Vocals
CCharlz Ruggerio - (Mondo Chuck) Bass/Vocals
Chuck is the man who keeps the bottom where it belongs and the rhythm pumpin'. He and our drummer(s) make for one of the best rhythm sections in the area. With a background in classical guitar Chalrz is not your typical bass player. He was active in the Rhode Island Blues community for 10 years prior to settling in Hunterdon County, NJ. He has performed with Johnny Charles, Liberty Blues, City Dreams, plus he also played with Lori in the Barn Rock Blues Band for years. Charlz also writes his own original material which we hope will eventually become part of Can't Stop Now's set lists. No matter where he is, he lends his own unique style both musically and vocally.
Jim "JAMO" Flynn - DRUMS
Jimmy is a seasoned professional and keeps the other half of our rythmn section tight at all times. Bands that Jim has played with are many; London Fog, Fog, Bittersweet, Borzoi, Breakfast of Champions, Can't Stop Now, Big Daddy and the Wild Cats, BB and the Stingers, Blue Chunks, Delivery Boys, Johnny Charles and the Straight 8 Blues Kings, Jack Powers, John Powers, Jimmy Long Trio, Panache, American Roots All-Stars, Urchin, Kind Of Blue, Too Stupid To Quit, Blues Brotherhood, Lenny's Night Out, Chicago Carl Snyder, Tracy Lee Band and many more that I can't remember now. Recording locations: Venture Sound, Nine West, ShoreFire Studios, and again, many more. He is the first call for many for fill in when they need help.
MARC YOUNG - Keyboards
Marc Young started playing piano at an early age. He was taught by his father, Jimi Young of the popular Lehigh Valley based group “Slim Pickins”, and his grandfather, Honky Tonk legend “Ragtime Charlie Young”, and began performing with them on stage at the age of 10. Over the years Marc has played the Northeast from N.Y. and Boston, to the Pocono and Atlantic City Resorts, and everywhere in between. In the 90’s he was a full time professional musician with rock bands “Suspect” , “Rose Alley”, and Pocono based group “Fly By Nite” while also jamming the keys for “Carl Van Camp and the Stone Ridge Boys”. In 2000 he joined Lehigh Valley based country singer Tracy Lee in the “Tracy Lee Band” which had a very successful 3 year run in the area. Currently he works at Dave Phillips Music and Sound and has become a “hired professional” having lent his skills providing backing band support for Colgate Toothpaste’s “Colgate Country Showdown Contest” and Bally’s Atlantic City Wild West Casino with country artist “Brian Clayton and the Green River Band”. He has also done work for local country bands “Stampede” and “Cimmaron”, rock group “Beats Workin”, disco group “Downtown”, Bethlehem’s “Piratepalooza” Festival, and the oldies show band “The Main Street Cruisers”. Kid White keys gets around.
